Get a key
API access is an add-on to the Shop and Factory plans, and it is included in Scale. Create your key on your account page. It is shown once. Keep it on your server, never in a browser or an app.
Make a file
Send the logo as the body of a POST request. The answer is the stitch file itself.
curl -X POST "https://digitizing.app/api/v1/file?width_mm=80&format=dst" \ -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" \ --data-binary @logo.png \ -o logo.dst
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
width_mm | Finished width in millimetres. Required. |
format | dst, pes, jef, exp, xxx or vp3. Without it you get dst. |
colors | The most thread colours, 1 to 6. Without it, 6. |
body | The logo: PNG, SVG or PDF, up to 4 MB. A PNG can be up to 6 megapixels. |
Answers
| Code | What it means |
|---|---|
200 | The stitch file. The header X-Files-Left says how many files are left this month. |
400 | Something in the request is wrong. The message says what. |
401 | The key is missing or not valid. |
402 | There is no active Shop or Factory plan, or this month’s files are used. |
403 | API access is not active on the account. |
413 | The file is too large. |
415 | The file is not a PNG, SVG or PDF. |
429 | Too many calls. Wait and try again. |
Every answer that is not a file is JSON with one field:
{ "error": "Give the finished width in millimetres: ?width_mm=80" }Limits
Each file counts as one file in your plan: a new size or another format is a new file. The exact same file again within 15 minutes does not count twice. A key can make 12 calls a minute and 1,000 calls a day. Calls sent at the same moment wait their turn.
Your logo
The logo is held in memory while the stitches are worked out, and it is gone when the file is sent. Nothing is stored.
