What you buy, when you can change your mind, and what we do not promise. It is short on purpose.
digitizing.app is a service operated from Denmark. Write to hello@digitizing.app – a person reads it.
There is no phone number, and that is deliberate: the Court of Justice of the European Union held in C-649/17 that a trader need not publish one where another fast route exists. Email is that route, and a person reads it.
What you buy
A stitch file, worked out by our engine from the artwork you upload, in the machine format you choose. You see the finished stitches before you pay – that is the whole idea of the place. What is on the screen is what is in the file.
Delivery
Immediately. The download begins as soon as the payment is confirmed; there is nothing to wait for and nothing to ship.
Your 14 days – and how they end
As a consumer in the EU you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. For digital content delivered at once, that right ends when delivery begins – provided you asked for it and were told so first. By ticking the box before paying you agree to these terms, and that means you ask for the file or the access straight away and accept that your 14-day right ends the moment the download or the plan begins. Until it is ticked, nothing can be charged.
Prices
Prices are in euros in the EU and on the German, French, Italian and Spanish pages, and in US dollars elsewhere – with the same figures. You pay the amount and currency shown at checkout. Any VAT or sales tax due is worked out and collected at checkout by our payment provider, Stripe, who accounts for it. We may change our prices at any time. A new price applies at once to new purchases. If you have a subscription, we email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
The subscription
Studio is $29 a month and renews each month until you cancel. New customers pay $9 for the first month, with the same 20 files; from the second month it is $29 a month. The first-month price is once per card and per email – used again, that first month includes one file. We email you at least 7 days before the first $29. A subscriber who has used the month’s files can buy an extra file for $9. Cancel whenever you like: the plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for, and nothing is charged after that. Every file you download counts as one file: a new size, another format, another technique or an edit is a new file. Downloading exactly the same file again within 15 minutes does not count twice.
API access
API access is an add-on to the Shop and Factory plans for $99 a month, and it is included in Scale. Files made through the API count in your plan’s files, exactly like files made in the workshop. A key can make 1,000 calls a day. Keep your key secret: you are responsible for what is made with it, and you can replace it or turn it off on your account page at any time. If your plan ends, the add-on ends with it at the end of the period you have paid for. The key is for your own systems: you may not share it or resell access to the API. We may pause a key that is misused or that puts the service at risk, and we may change the limits. The API is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it is always available.
Your artwork stays yours
You keep every right in the logo you upload, and you must hold the right to use it. We claim nothing, we store nothing, and we never show your work to anybody. The stitch file is yours to use, commercial use included. If artwork you upload infringes someone else’s rights, that is your responsibility, and you cover any claim or cost it brings us.
The receipt is kept – the logo is not
The promise on the front page is about your artwork: it is deleted the moment the stitches are worked out. Your receipt is a different thing. Invoices must be kept for five years under Danish bookkeeping law, and they are. They hold your payment, never your logo.
What we do not promise
The file is made by a machine from the artwork it was given. Sew a test piece before a production run: fabric, backing, thread and machine all change the result, and a mark that is too small or too thin will not survive being stitched however good the file is. Our liability is limited to what you paid.
If something is wrong
Write to hello@digitizing.app. You see the sewn result before you pay, and that is the file you get.
Law
Danish law applies. If you buy as a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country, and you may take a complaint to the consumer complaints body there.
